Terrace of 5 cottages, formerly almshouses. An inscribed stone
gives 'S & M C 1835'. Squared and coursed Portland stone,
slate roof. A straight row of single-depth cottages with
low-pitched hipped roof and flat-roofed rear extension, set
gable-end to Park Street. No.14 is double-fronted, the others
have a single bay.
2 storeys, 6 windows, all in pointed arches with stone
voussoirs, a small 2-light casement, retaining horizontal bar
in No.18 only, and under a plain pointed transom light; in
No.16 at first floor the casement replaced by a single square
light. The first-floor windows are set well below the eaves
level. All 6 doors are replacements, under voussoirs with a
slight central key; No.14 has a large C20 porch, Nos 15 & 16
are under a lean-to slate hood. There are 2 square ridge

extension is very shallow, and occupies what was a 1.5m gap
between the almshouses and adjacent buildings in Park Street.
