Former stables to Goldsborough Hall, now houses and sheltered flats, with courtyard wall and piers. Mid-late C18 with conversion c 1980. Possibly by John Carr for Daniel Lascelles. Limestone plinth, red/brown brick, English bond. Pantile roof with two lowest courses of flagstones. Two long ranges along the road side, each of two storeys with central carriage arch and flanking four bay wings. An E-shaped plan formed by rear extensions from each end and the centre of the building. Stansfield Court (left) therefore has a rear courtyard which is closed by a low boundary wall on the south side.

Left range, (Stansfield Court): round arch in slightly protruding central bay has ashlar voussoirs and quoins. Moulded string and occulus above. Flanking wings with C20 sash windows. Raised eaves. Pyramidal roof to central bay, hipped roof to wings.

Right range (Goldsborough Hall Cottages): plain brick round arch and occulus above. Flanking wings have paired C20 six-panel doors and C20 windows throughout. Hipped roofs. Rear: C20 doors and windows, in mainly new openings.

Courtyard wall and piers to rear of Stansfield Court: brick in English bond with ashlar dressings. Wall approximately 1.5 metres high, flat coping. Piers flanking central opening (opposite the carriage arch), are of ashlar with brick panels; ball and cushion finials. The facade of the stables range in very similar to the north barn at Plompton Hall Farm (q.v.) where John Carr also worked.
