Pair of attached houses. c1855. By William Butterfield as part of the
estate for Viscount Downe of Baldersby Park. Red brick, English bond,
C20 tile roof. High Victorian style. One and a half storeys, irregular
fenestration. Entrance in left and right returns. Ground floor: two
3-light wooden casements and 1 single-light casement to left, all with
glazing bars and segmental brick arches. First floor: two 2-light
wooden casements rising as half-hipped dormers. Half-hipped gable roof.
Central stepped stack straddles ridge, with tumbled-in brickwork.
