3 attached houses. c1855. By William Butterfield as part of the estate
for Viscount Downe of Baldersby Park. Red brick in English bond with
ashlar dressings and sills. C20 tile roof. One and a half storeys,
irregular fenestration. L-shaped plan. Entrances: main front-porches
to No 6 on left (6-panel door) and to No 7 (plain board door) on right.
Main windows of 3 lights with pointed heads, stone mullions and iron
casements. Others are square-paned casements. 2 first-floor windows
rise as half-hipped dormers. Rear: half-hipped porch entrance to No 5,
plank door. First-floor windows include a 2-light stone mullion window
with iron casement, and a 2-light casement window, both under half-
hipped dormer. Half-hipped roof, 3 stacks straddle ridge and a fourth
rises from eaves level on right. All stepped, with ashlar bands and
tumbled-in brickwork.
