II
Row of cottages. Probably C18, altered in C19. Coursed rubble with cut
quoins and dressings; pantile roof except for Welsh slates on rear outshut;
various brick stacks. Single storey, 5 irregular bays. 3-bay left part has
centre half-glazed door within C20 porch, 3-blocked doors, three 4-pane sash
windows and two C20 casements in older openings. Coped gables; right end and
2 ridge stacks. Left return shows blocked stone-surround window. Slightly-
lower right part shows boarded door, blocked doorway and three 4-pane sashes;
coped right end gable and 2 ridge stacks. Right return shows blocked
segmental arch.
Traditionally the residence of local miners' widows.
