4/135 The Lodge, and entrance gateway and gates to Crichel House

Entrance gates to park, with attached lodge. Dated, on lodge, 1874. Rock-faced ashlar walls, flat roofs with parapets, - some battlemented. Gateway has a central section, with semi circular arch, flanked by 2 lower sections, each with shouldered arches. Central section has battlemented parapet, with turrets at each end. String course and corbel table at base of parapet, with coat of arms above the arch, - this flanked by buttresses. Left of this, the lower section forms entrance porch to lodge, with shouldered arch, and battlemented parapet. Right of the main archway another lower section, with shouldered arch, battlemented parapet, and projecting turret at right end. Groined vault to main arch. Ornamental iron gates to all 3 openings. Lodge at left end, projects at right angles to gateway. Single storey, with battlemented parapet. 3 stone mullioned windows with cast iron lattice glazing. Later single storey addition at front, in matching construction, with plain parapet.
