GV II

Almshouse with attached wall and outbuilding, dated 1864. Snecked tooled stone
with ashlar quoins, dressings and porches; graduated Lakeland slate roof. 1
storey, 5 bays, symmetrical. Bays 2 and 4 have projecting porches with vertical-
panelled doors in moulded surrounds with flat-pointed heads and hoodmoulds;
coped gables with moulded kneelers and obelisk finials. 2-light recessed
chamfered mullioned windows with plate-glass sashes. Above window in central
bay THE EVANS ALMSHOVSE/ST DAVID'S DAY with date. Moulded brackets to eaves;
gables have moulded kneelers and gabled coping. Stepped and corniced end and
2 ridge stacks.

Set back to right, wall with gabled coping links to gable end of L-plan
outbuilding; small boarded opening in chamfered surround. Boarded doors to
rear and to small yard.
