13/21 The Old Forge

House. C17, extended early C19 with some mid-C20 alterations. Timber-
frame with painted brick infill on a rubble plinth, under a slate roof.
Two framed bays aligned east/west, with an external stack of rubble to west
gable end with a brick shaft. Street (south) front of two storeys with two
2-light casements. On the ground floor a 3-light casement to the left and a
2-light casement to right, both with plank weatherings. The central entrance
has a segmental metal canopy on wrought iron brackets, with a four-panel door,
the upper two panels glazed. Framing: three square panels high raised by a
further panel in C19. Original roof trusses have three struts to collar.
