SW 62 NW BREAGE

7/189 Milestone at SW621279

Milestone. Probably circa 1864. Painted dressed granite monolith. Triangular-
on-plan shaft over a rectangular-on-plan base. 2 rectangular sides of the
shaft face the road obliquely and rise from large pyramid stops. Each of
these sides has incised lettering and Arabic numerals. Pyramidal head.
Left-hand side inscription: PENZANCE 10, LANDS END 20.
Right-hand side inscription: HELSTON 3, FALMOUTH 15.
Over the left-hand side is an Ordnance Survey bench mark.
