Detached house. Circa 1830's with circa mid-C18 wing to rear. Stuccoed stone with
hipped scantle slate roof with deep eaves. Brick stacks in hipped ends. C18 wing
with rubble stone base, cob upper walls and hipped slate roof. l½-rooms deep with
wide central hallway and staircase to rear on left. C18 wing 1-room deep. Forms
L-shaped plan. 2 storey, symmetrical 3-window front of two 12-pane sashes without
horns on ground floor and 3 similar above. Central C19 panelled door with fanlight
with intersecting glazing bars under 4-centred arch. Main reception rooms with
fine plasterwork cornices with egg and dart motifs, key patterns and grapes in
dining room. Moulded doorcases throughout. Original open string staircase with
moulded rail and square balusters.
