The Cottage
II

House. 1765 and early C19. Coursed squared limestone with gritstone dressings.
Stone slate roof and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. One ridge and two
gable end stacks, rendered. Two storeys. South elevation of five bays. Raised
quoins. From left to right - a glazing bar sash in raised stone surround, doorway
with stone lintel and jambs with raised and fielded panelled door. Canted bay
window with glazing bar sashes, doorway with moulded stone surround and hoodmould
with raised and fielded panelled door, similar canted bay window. Five glazing bar
sashes above in raised stone surrounds. Above the door, a datestone inscribed
'FC 1765'.
