3.0 metres north of

First and Second World War Memorial. 1920 with statue by Humphries, Jackson
of Manchester. Pink granite plinth, sandstone pedestal with bronze plaques
and bronze statue. Rectangular plinth has moulded top. Tall pedestal has
set-back, hollow-chamfered arrises with broaches and a stepped, battered top.
Front of pedestal has bronze laurel wreath; sides and rear have plaques naming
those who died. Pedestal surmounted by life-sized statue of kneeling World War
I infantryman with fixed bayonet.
