Toll house for turnpike road. Early C19. Sandstone with granite dressings,
scantle slate hipped roof with brick chimney over one side. 1 storey. 2 rooms
with continuous outshut to rear and canted entrance bay to right of front. 2 light
casement to left, entrance to right with flanking narrow windows with chamfered
monolithic granite jambs. Similar window openings in side walls near front.
Interior not inspected but back rooms in outshut were probably sleeping chambers.
