Bakery and detached kitchen to Northe Morte Farmhouse, possibly late Cl7. Morte
slatestone with some cob. Hipped scantling decreasing slate roof. Large axial
stack with slated weathering, heightened in brick. Small stack for copper at lower
end. Rectangular plan with outshut to rear with partly corrugated and partly Roman
tiled roofs and slated lean-to roof at lower end. Single storey, partly lofted at
upper end. Ledged plank door to front with 2 light window to left patched with
leaded panes. Blocked window opening at upper end. Large hearth with two ovens,
the one to rear is larger and brick-lined, with smaller cloam oven to left with its
rounded projection enclosed in the rear outshut. Slate flag floor intact. 3
smoke-blackened trusses with slightly curved principals and 2 tiers of purlins
entirely smoke-blackened. The building is unrestored.
