SX 48 SE BRENTOR

7/32 Cottage and stable block about 15m
- north of Langstone Manor

Cottage and stable block. Probably 1907, contemporary with the rebuilding of
Langstone Manor (q.v.). Coursed stone rubble with slate roof with gabled ends, left
gable end slate-hung, some brick dressings. 2 storeys with house accommodation at
rear and over stabling. Asymmetrical east front has 3 large coachhouse and stable
entrances with segmental arches, the pair to the left under square-headed hoodmoulds
with label stops. Further coachhouse entrance on front at right has segmental brick
arch. 2 gabled dormers to the left have 12-pane sash windows, further sash on front
at right. Weathervane on ridge supported on ornamental brick turret with moulded
brick cornice and brick gable with tented slate roof. Included for group value with
Langstone Manor.
