18/118 The Old Manse
GV II
A manse, now a house. Early C19 extended later C19. Timber-framed with
roughcast render. Red brick end stacks and ridge stack to right of centre.
Plain tiled roof. Two storeys five unequal 'bays' with end bay a later
addition. Doorway to left of centre with stone step, six-panelled door in
moulded wooden architrave with dentil enriched cornice. Four ground floor
twelve-paned flush-framed hung sash windows, and four smaller, similar first
floor windows with one painted blind window. Coved eaves cornice. Interior
details; closed string staircase with slender newel posts, early C19
panelled doors and doorcases. Patterned heads to glazing bars on one first
floor window in rear elevation.
