House. Early to mid C19. Coursed limestone blocks with Collyweston stone slated roofs. Plastered gable end stacks and rear stack. Two storeys, L-plan. Symmetrical facade Embattled parapet continuous across two two-storey canted bay windows with glazing bars and top light ventilation. Entrance with pent roof to open porch and six-panelled door. The home of James Hayes, iron founder, who invented the straw elevator. Hayes straw elevator model in private ownership.
