Farmhouse. Mid C19. rubble, some rendered and scribed, slate roof. Large
L-plan house with hipped front block and gabled back wing. All windows are
16-pane sashes in moulded surrounds to slightly cambered heads and splayed
cambered near-flush 'arches'; some have horns, but most are original including
early glass. Two storeys: main front is 2 windows, and to right is 9-panel
flush door to Y-bar fanlight, in deep reveals, with hood on reeded pilasters.
To right of this a single-storey wing, not of special interest. Quoined ends,
continuous cornice with decorative consoles, large brick stack, centre. Left
return, to north is 2-windowed; long vertical blocked stair opening in moulded
surround to centre. Wing set back from front block is 3 windows, centre ground
floor having tripartite sash, also inserted glazed door in internal angle.
Return (back) of main block has blank painted Window at first floor. Gable to
wing is blank, but with C20 door in hipped porch. Interior not inspected, but
front block has shutters to ground floor windows. A very complete and handsome
ensemble.
