5/60 old Stable Court

Stables, now houses and garage. Early C18, remodelled and restored in 1930s.
Brick with hipped tile roof. Square plan with central courtyard. East front:
two storeys, dentilled and dog-tooth brick cornice, stepped plinth and band to
first floor. 4 + 3 + 4 windows, the central portion slightly advanced.
Horizontally sliding sashes under segmental heads, the head and jambs in a
redder brick than remainder of wall. Ground floor windows are almost all
blind, save for two to right-hand corner and one to left-hand corner. There
was a central carriage entry with a segmental head, blocked on brick. Roof
capped by a restored wooden bell turret of square plan, the upper part
louvred with Doric pilasters and pedimented in each direction, the lower part
clad in copper with a clock face, all capped by a wrought iron weathervane.
