Farmhouse. C17 with substantial C19 alterations. Cob, stone plinth, under a
gabled-end slate roof. The house was originally of one main range (possibly 3 room
and cross passage plan) with 2 end cross wings, one of which (to the right-hand
side) was destroyed by fire in the C19. The parlour wing survives forming an L-
shaped plan. 2 end stacks and an axial stack backing on to passage (to main range),
one internal lateral stack to wing : all with brick shafts. 2 storeys throughout.
Front: main elevation a 3-window range, all 2 and 3-light timber casements, C19/C20;
with a porch, lattice work sides and moulded, leaded roof. C19 2-light timber
casement windows to wing (one blocked) and a 3-light dairy window with a sun-shield
supported by wooden diagonal struts.
Interior: a good Hall with 3 cross beams with ovolo mouldings, and moulded jambs to
internal entrance: fireplace with chamfered stone jambs, plus a replaced stone
arched lintel under an original strainer arch.
Roof: 5 bays with 7 trusses, all sawn 019 timbers.
