Farmhouse. C16 or earlier, with later modifications. Rendered with gabled end
slate roof and brick stacks just below the ridge. Originally a 3 room through
passage plan, the higher end to the left of passage. 2 storeys with continuous
volcanic trap rendered outshut under catslide roof. 2 brick end stacks, and an
axial brick stack heating hall and backing onto passage.
Front: 3 windows to ground floor, two 3-light casements to left of door (the left-
hand one mid-C19), 6 panes to each light, with 2 large buttresses; doorway with
canopy on shaped brackets; 4-light C20 casement window to right. Four 2, 3 and 4
light casement windows to first floor lintels at wall-plate level. All casements
timber with glazing bars. Lower end ground floor room (kitchen) with 2 beams,
chamfered with run-out stops, and large (now blocked) end fireplace. 2 jointed
crucks exposed above former hall. Some rooms and roof space not inspected.
