SO 8104 STONEHOUSE RYEFORD

10/193 Tankard House

GV II

Former ale house, now house at end of row. c1800; mid C19
addition; C20 alterations. Coursed rubble limestone; red brick;
brick chimneys; plain concrete tile roof. Two-storey with attic;
2-storey additions at each end, that to east linking with No 2,
Ryeford House (q.v.). Front: 3-window segmental arched casement
fenestration. Segmental arched central doorway with 6-panel door
and rectangular light over with glazing bars. Tuscan porch with
flat roof is late C20 addition. Three gabled roof dormers.
Scattered casements and central door to west addition, all with
concrete lintels. Segmental arched casements in brick addition to
right. Rear: painted brick with small C20 casements.
Interior altered late C20. Included for Group Value to complete
canal-side group.
