2-storey building with a part-roof forming a passage of "slype" at the
South end of the east cloister range. Two C13 vaulted chambers on the
lower floor, eastern one with quadripartite vault and western one with
two parallel barrel vaults. External staircase leads to upper floor.
Large C16 buttress against the west wall of the passage [see RCHM "West
Dorset" and literature in Sherborne School].

The following buildings of Sherborne School surround the greens immediately
to the north of the Abbey Church of St Mary and form a group with themselves
and with the Abbey Church of St Mary.
