CHURCH PREEN C.P. KENLEY ROAD

II
Lodge. Circa 1870 with later additions and alterations. Probably by
Richard Norman Shaw. Planted timber frame on high coursed limestone
rubble plinth, ashlar dressings; machine tile roof with fretted
bargeboards to gables. T-plan. 2 storeys; rectangular planted
timber frame panels below eaves; irregular fenestration, east side has
mullion window to left on ground floor with wooden mullioned and
transomed window beneath small gable to left of centre on first floor,
north gable end has canted bay mullioned and transomed window to
ground floor with two 3-light leaded casements above; entrance through
early C20 lean-to porch with half-glazed door on west side; integral
lateral stack on east side with moulded red brick shaft. East Lodge
stands at the east drive entrance to Preen Manor (not included), built
by Richard Norman Shaw for Arthur Sparrow in c.1870-1. Eldon Carran,
