11/89 Home Cottage

GV II

House. Late C16 or early C17, renovated in C18. Timber frame roughcast
with weatherboarded apron on front. Steep old red tile roof. A small
1 ½-storeys house facing W with S gable end on roadside. W front has 2
gabled dormers at eaves level, 2 windows and boarded door under a glazed
timber gabled porch. 3-light casements and one on each floor in S gable
with lattice leaded glazing and iron opening lights. N end internal
gable chimney and 2 rear-wall chimneys, that at S end capped off. Low
battened door at corner next the road. Old lead pump in front. (Jackson
(1983)15).
