Crusader effigy of Sir William Hamelin. His legs are crossed at the knee and the legs of a frog can be seen disappearing under the bottom left edge of his surcoat. these signs denote a man who went on a crusade: Effigies shown with legs crossed at the ankle will have supported or paid for crusades. The tomb chest with shields in quatrefoil panels and incised slab is to Sir Thomas Berkley d.1488 and wife Petronella. (Photo Aug 2007).
