House. Probably C16 with C17 rebuilding and repairs and C18 and C19
alterations. Timber framed with brick infill and some brick rebuilding;
plain tile roof and hipped thatched roof with scalloped ridge; brick
ridge stacks. Aligned east-west facing north; the C16 house comprised
at least 3 framed bays, 2 of which survive. The eastern part of the house
was replaced in the C17 by a 2-framed bay lobby-entry plan building. C16
building to the right, C17 building to the left. C16 building: one storey
and attic, 2 large square panels to the eaves; C18 glazing bar casements,
one to ground floor left, eyebrow dormers to left and centre. C17 building:
formerly one storey and attic, now 2 storeys, square panels to former
eaves and straight braces; 2 windows, C18 glazing bar casements, ground
floor window to the left has a segmental head, first floor window to the
left within former eyebrow dormer. Interior: C16 house contains one
cruck truss, a second cruck truss has been reused in the C17 building.
