Mounting block. Mid-C19. Brick and ashlar. Irregular four-sided plan.
Brick base with ashlar capping and four ashlar steps on inner side. About
three feet in height. Included as part of the C19 forecourt layout to the
east of Hanbury Hall (qv). (Country Life, xxxix, p 502; LXLiii, p 16, 18;
Gardens X, p 368; VCH 3 (ii), p 372-3; Hanbury Hall, The National Trust Official
Guide, 1981, pp 6 and 30).
