GV II

Two pairs of cottages, at right-angles to the roadway, and between them a road-
side stone building. Mainly late C18. Stone and tile. Each unit began as a
timber framed house, and was extended to become 2 cottages. The northern pair
has a front (south) of 2 storeys, 3 (centre block) .1 windows. Roof ½-hipped
at the west end. Stone walls with brick dressings, the narrower eastern (No.2)
part of larger coursed stonework. Casements. Plain doors. C20 service wings
recessed at each end, in conforming style. The southern pair have a symmetrical
front (south) of 2 storeys, 2.2 windows. ½-hipped roof, brick dentil eaves :
stone walls with brick quoins and cambered arches, plinth. Casements. Boarded
doors beneath open tiled hoods on brackets. The roadside between the pairs is
occupied by a narrow block, having a hipped tile roof, stone walls with 4 openings,
the other walls being boarded.
