The Church of St Peter looks considerably older than it actually is. It was consecrated in 1866 and is built in the Gothic Revival style. The Grade II-listed building was designed by Charles Buckeridge, a renowned church architect who trained under Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. There was an earlier church on this site dating back to 1321 and also called St Peter's, but it was presumably in such a bad state of repair that it was decided to demolish it and start afresh.
The village of Radway is at the foot of Edgehill in Warwickshire. The Battle of Edgehill, one of the early major engagements of the English Civil War, was fought in fields around the village and in the adjoining parishes of Ratley and Kineton.
