SO 71 NW BLAISDON BLAISDON VILLAGE

7/11 Spring Cottage

House; mid to late C17. Timber-framed, rendered plinth, machine-
made tile roof. 2-room plan, with external end chimney, 2 floors,
upper largely in roof. Gable to road, window to ground floor may
replace former door. Entrance in side elevation to right; frame 3
panels high, tension braces to corner posts; effectively 3 windows,
including one narrow one by door. At least one upper panel on rear
still wattle and daub. First floor joists tenoned through studs
and pegged; the two first floor rooms are at slightly different
levels. Large brick gable chimney, with stone slated oven
adjoining. Extension built 1984 to replace earlier C20 one.
