Free standing barn. C18. Limestone rubble or timber framing faced with weather-
boarding, some brick nogging; double Roman tiled roof. Rectangular gabled barn
on high plinth wall; to road has entrance plank door up 5 stone steps to
threshold at half height of plinth wall; small loading door above this and to
right. Left gable has boarded gable, but main wall section now protected by
corrugated plastic sheet,loading door above; South gable wall full height
rubble formerly attached to other farm buildings now demolished. Interior has
3½ bays in heavy framing,square panel, straight corner braces, jowled posts;
collar and tie heavy pegged roof principals, mostly much later purlins and
rafters, some original purlins in 2-purlin trenched. The half-bay at South end
appears to be a later addition, as parts of the end wall framing remain within
to plate level at the first truss position.
