GV II

House. Late C18/early C19. Coursed squared limestone; Welsh
slate roof; brick right- and left-end stacks, that to left
shared with No.25 Gloucester Street (qv). 2-storey 3-window
range. Three 6/6-pane sashes with lintels with keystones and
stone cills. 2 similar windows to ground floor. Door to centre
in round-headed opening with impost blocks and keystone has 6
flush panels and fanlight. Shallow plinth. Large rear wing.
INTERIOR not inspected. This house said to be the former
Cirencester theatre and to contain theatrical wall paintings;
subsequently the Volunteer Inn.
