Royal Arms of George III, dating from about 1814 (Napoleon defeated) and completed just possibly mid 1815 (Wellington's victory at Waterloo). This painting must represent the most exact quality of heraldic art that could be commissioned at the time, and has, on top of the inner shield, the Hanover Elector's Bonnet. (Similar to a crown, but silver instead of gold, and the points not meeting above the red cloth lining). This would have been painted as a crown when Hanover became a kingdom in 1816. In the swags of ermine in the bottom leaf of the painting are the names - George De Ligne Gregory, Esquire - Reverend H. Dodwell, Rector - Reverend Thomas Plaskett & - Francis Harby, Churchwardens.
