House. Mid C19, probably for J Moon (J Jwawy, pers. comm.), altered and added
to. Red brick in Flemish bond with painted stone dressings; plain tile roof. 2
storeys, 3 bays. Symmetrical composition with chamfered plinth, rusticated
quoins, eaves band, plain cornice and coped parapet having end piers (formerly
with hipped capstones). Central 6-panel door, 4 upper panels now glazed, with
overlight (glazing bars removed) in Tuscan portico, the front columns replaced,
with deep entablature and blocking course. Sashes with glazing bars, on ground
floor with architraves, friezes and console brackets to former cornices
(removed); on first floor with raised plain surrounds rising into eaves band.
Hipped roof. 2 stacks to each side, those at front now hung with Welsh slate.
Rear: stepped dentilled eaves; paired hipped gables. Interior not inspected.
Of the same design as No 22 (Nightingale Lodge, q.v.).
