Includes railings and gate along Deanery Road. Cemetery railings and gates.
1857 (VCH, p28). Manufactured by L Faulkner & Sons, Hersham. Cast iron, with
Bargate rubble plinth on Nightingale Road side. The railings enclose the
cemetery on its south-east side, running along Deanery and Nightingale Roads and
stepping up with the hill slope. There is a carriage entrance at either end, a
pedestrian kissing-gate to the centre of the Deanery Road section, and a
pedestrian gate giving access to No 19 Nightingale Road (the lodge to the
Cemetery q.v.). Square-section bars with 3-lobed finials, linked by top rail
with spirals; T-sectioned standards, braced into earth, with swept pyramidal
caps. Gate posts are square-sectioned with strings below knobbed ogee caps.
Double gates to carriage entrances.
