18/18 Lilac Cottage

GV II

Three cottages, now one house. Early Cl8. 2 builds. Coursed limestone rubble.
Steeply pitched thatched roof. Brick ridge stacks. Two cottages of single-unit
plan with later single-unit cottage added on left forming 3-unit plan
altogether, Single storey plus attic. Blocked entrance on road elevation. Ground
floor has three 2-light metal casements in wood frames. Lead cames, wood
lintels, sheet glass. Single eyebrow dormer in thatch, Left gable has 2-light
casements on ground and first floor. Lead cames, sheet glass and wood lintels.
Rear has entrances with plank doors with wood lintels. Interior; chamfered
beams, original fireplaces refaced in Cl9/C20. 3 wood winder staircases. Plank
doors, strap hinges. Quarry tiles. Blocked original window in left gable of
middle cottage confirms that the 2 cottages on right preceded the cottage on the
left.
