Torleven Farmhouse

Farmhouse. 1818 datestone to left-hand end. Roughly coursed
granite rubble with granite dressings; half-hipped asbestos
slate roof with brick end stacks. 2 storeys; symmetrical
3-window front. Late C19 or C20 horned sashes; 4-pane sashes
to 1st floor, sashes with glazing bars to ground floor; mid
C20 top-glazed door. Lean-to on left has original
horizontal-sliding sash with glazing bars. Rear has lancet
stair window. with Y-traceried head. INTERIOR: many original
features including: 6-panel doors with fielded panels; moulded
ceiling band to entrance hall, moulded plaster arch between
entrance and stair hall; staircase with open string has carved
brackets and ramped handrail scrolled over newel; panelled
window shutters and cupboard doors to rear right-hand room
with punched decoration to metal top panels.
