HELSTON

SW6627 MENEAGE STREET 631-1/5/159 (North East side) 22/05/72 No.16 (Formerly Listed as: MENEAGE STREET (North side) Nos.16 AND 18)

Town house with later shop. Early/mid C19. Render replacing stucco on studwork; dry slate roof with projecting eaves; shared brick stack on right; cast-iron ogee gutter. Deep plan, probably originally part of a larger house with central through-passage (between Nos 16 & 18). 3 storeys; 2-window range. 2nd floor has original 16-pane hornless sashes within moulded wooden architraves; similar later horned copy to 1st-floor right and late C19 oriel on left with moulded cornice and horned sashes with large panes. Ground floor has late C19 canted double shop front with round-arched quadrant end lights and splayed central sidelights to doorway with original pair of glazed and panelled doors and overlight; front mullions removed and replaced with plate glass; moulded entablature with blind slot and original cornice. INTERIOR not accessible at time of survey but likely to be of interest.
