Town house with later shops. C18. Stucco and render on
studwork to front; steep asbestos slate roof with two C20 roof
dormers and 1 skylight; brick end stacks. Double-depth plan
with later buildings in rear courtyard. 2 storeys plus attic;
5-window range, probably originally a symmetrical 5-window
front. No.17 (right) has 2 early/mid C19 hornless sashes;
No.19 has three C20 windows. Ground floor has 2 late C19
double shop fronts flanking a central ope; full-width
entablature with moulded cornice, canted over shops and
interrupted by end pilasters of shops with tall consoles with
arched heads. No.17 has slender horizontal glazing bars
between slender mullions, other shop is transomed. INTERIOR
not inspected.
