Town Hall. Early C19. Brick with roof of black glazed
pantiles. 3 storeys in 5 bays. Central fielded and panelled
door within timber case with margin lights and reeded pilaster
strips. Segmental 8-vaned fanlight under gauged arch.
Fenestration of sashes with glazing bars and gauged skewback
arches, the lower 2 storeys also with discrete sash hoods.
Double block timber eaves cornice. Gabled roof with internal
gable-end stacks. INTERIOR. Stick baluster staircase with
ramped and wreathed handrail. Council chamber with a Regency
fire surround: leaf trails to jambs, centre swag, dentil
cornice under mantelpiece.
