Church and hall. 1847 and 1982. Grey and yellow brick, with
stuccoed front, slate roof. Rectangular plan, rear ground
floor projection also rectangular with C20 central projecting
porch with canted sides.
2 storeys. E front elevation, 2 storeyed with full width
pediment, 6 bays, central 4 break forward, Ionic entablature
between ground and first floor. Ground floor, central 4 bays
have pilasters to the entablature with 4 original entry
doorways between, each now either fully glazed or with C20
2-leaved glazed door. Outer bays have original doorways, now
fully glazed. First floor has round headed windows matching
bays below - metal casement with glazing bars, 5x3 panes -
outer ones narrower than central 3. Semicircular heads
similarly glazed, radiating and concentric glazing bars.
Pediment has central `thermal' window with keystone, roof vent
above and acroterion on apex. Rear, W elevation, low pitched
gable of main roof with C19 ground floor projection with
hipped roof. C20 door in porch with cant sides and stone door
surround, door of 2 leaves, each leaf with 3 long glazed
panels. Each side, C19 segment headed casement window with
metal glazing bars, 5x7 panes. Large projecting C20 window
rises from hipped roof with 5 cant sides, fully glazed with
vertical glazing bars, hipped roof over. Plastic imitation
slates used on upper and lower visible roofs. N and S side
elevations of 6 bays have ground and first floor windows that
are similar to those on front elevation with metal frames and
glazing bars. Ground floor segment headed, first floor round
headed. S elevation, W bay has a 2-leaf glazed door. N
elevation, second bay from E front has a 4-panelled door with
fixed side panel.
INTERIOR: rebuilt and subdivided in 1982 to contain a lower
community room with church on first floor. Some original pews
and iron-work preserved and resited in the church.
