House. 2 builds. C18 and C19. Regular coursed ironstone rubble. Welsh slate
roofs. Stone stacks to ends and ridge. Left part: 2-unit plan, 2 storeys plus
attic; 2-window range. Right part: 2-unit plan, 2 storeys; 3-window range.
Entrance to right part: 6-panelled door with overlight; Tuscan porch. 2 sash
windows to right have keystoned surrounds. 3 similar windows to first floor. C20
roof dormer. Left part has 2 sash windows with keystoned surrounds to both
ground floor and first floor. C20 roof dormer. Interior: wreathed handrail to
main staircase. St. Mary's Lodge was once used as a girl's boarding school. The
cloakroom pegs and washroom can still be seen in the room to left. Re-set
datestone 1754 an old stable block may indicate date of earliest part of house.
