House, dated 1749 on roof timber, probably on earlier core, rubble
stone with stone tile roof and north end stack. Two storeys and
attic, 3-window range. One hipped dormer, 3 first floor 12-pane
sashes in cyma-moulded frames originally for mullion windows, 2
ground floor 3-light cyma-moulded flush mullion windows and centre
door in chamfered surround. Two large diagonal buttresses against
south angles. Early C19 tiled verandah on timber posts between
buttresses, continued in front of single storey early C19 garden
room canted out to south west. Two pointed arched Y-traceried
windows with original shutters. Rendered and whitewashed walls.
Interior of house has closed string stair with turned balusters and
moulded rail. Regency fireplace in south room and Regency door to
verandah. Marked as Tower House on old maps, a large embattled
tower stood south of house until c1900.
