Lodge to Lackham House, c1820-30, tufa random lump walling with
ashlar dressings and low pitched slate eaves roof with ridge stack.
Single storey. Gothic style, with Y-tracery windows in flush
rusticated ashlar surrounds. Ashlar plinth and flush rusticated
quoins. Semi-octagonal front of 5 sides with centre half-glazed
door in similar surround to windows but elaborated with rock-faced
bands and keystone carved with cockerel and cross crest. Roof is
carried out as verandah with fretted eaves boards, supported on
thin iron posts on Gothic stone bases, the posts ringed with iron
rods possibly to approximate to Gothic shafting and as trellis for
plants. Range behind is broader with deep eaves and 2 windows to
drive, on east side. West side, to lane, is plain painted render.
