GV II

Municipal School of Art, now part of Museum and Art Gallery.
1870s. Brick with ashlar dressings; tile roof with brick
stacks. 2 storeys with attic; 3-window range; rounded angle
with round turret. Ashlar sill bands and enriched brick impost
courses; top ashlar flush band and cornice; coped gables to
dormers. 4 segmental-headed windows to ground floor;
round-headed windows to 1st floor and dormers; all with
casements. Central segmental-headed entrance has recessed
panelled door. Angle has turret corbelled out on enriched
ashlar base; 1st and 2nd floor straight-headed lights under
ashlar lintel bands; conical roof. 7-window range to Wulfruna
Street has similar details; entrance now window; blind window
to ground floor has enriched ashlar panel with inscription in
quatrefoil; 5 gabled dormers. Gable-end stacks and 3
cross-axial stacks, all with oversailing courses. INTERIOR not
inspected.
