House and shop. Late C18. Stucco; slate to front pitch, plain
tile to rear; brick end stack and common stack. 2-unit plan. 4
storeys and cellar; 2-window range: 8/8 sashes, to 1st and 2nd
floors; 4/4 sashes to 3rd floor; moulded wood eaves. Early C19
shopfront with central C20 door, and overlight with glazing
bars; flanked by windows with glazing bars; pilasters. To
left, 8-panel door and overlight with glazing bars, giving
access to passage to rear, which has 6-panel door and
overlight with glazing bars, to rear. All under fascia board
and cornice flanked by fluted consoles, and surmounted by
cast-iron guard. Forms a pair with No.5, Castle Street (qv)
