House, now houses. C18. Roughcast, sandstone faced plinth;
slate roof; 2 brick stacks to front, buttressed to ground,
with brick cross stack to rear. 2-storeys and cellar;
single-window range: 6/9 sash with cambered head. Central
part-glazed panelled door in panelled doorcase, under moulded
flat hood on pilasters. Right return has C19 pierced barge
boards. Front to Lower Mill Street has late C19, 2-tier canted
bay with 3/3: 3/3: 3/3 sashes and moulded cornices; outshut to
left has two 2/2 sashes, over studded plank door to cellar.
Rear wing (known as Mill Cottage) of similar materials, with
brick end stack; two 3/6 and one 8/8 sashes, with C20 metal
casements to ground floor. Attached rubble wall may
incorporate base of town gate, with plank door in brick
surround.
