GV II

House, cottages and mill, now flats and offices. Early and mid
C19. Painted brick; old plain tiles; brick stack to rear.
3-storeys and cellar; 2-window range: 2/2 sashes under
cast-iron lintels; similar sashes over; brick modillion eaves.
Entrance to left: 4-panel door recessed in panelled case, with
architrave, and traceried fanlight, under rendered
semi-circular arch; similar 2/2 sash to right. Rear elevation
has large 3-tier bay to basement, ground and 1st floors, with
cast-iron lights to basement; 4-panel door with fanlight to
ground floor; brick modillion eaves.
Range to left: mid C19; 2-storeys; 8-window range, retaining
some C19 fenestration, including 2 probable workshop windows;
brick modillion eaves. C20 entrance under shallow segmental
arch; various C19 and C20 fenestration. Rear: C20 fenestration
and brickwork; old tiles.
Mill: mid C19. 3-storeys and attic; 5-window range: 4,
36-light cast-iron windows with casements; 6/6 casement; 2
leaf hoist doors with glazed, round-headed upper panels; 6,
36-light windows over. C20 loading bays under concrete lintel,
with small outshut to right having cast-iron casement.
Fenestration under segmental arches. 12 oval cast-iron
enriched tie-beam plates. Left returned side has 2, 36-light
windows to ground (1 blocked), 1st and 2nd floors, and 1 to
attic.
To rear: weir with brick-arched race under brick outshut;
cast-iron axle and sockets of wheel.
