Bank. Late C19. Granite ashlar and dressed granite brought to
course; roof hidden behind granite parapet; dressed granite
stack on left. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; regular 4-window
range. Original 12-pane horned sashes within moulded stone
architraves on a moulded string to continuous ashlar apron;
stepped keyblocks above linked to moulded string as architrave
to parapet, entablature with plain ashlar frieze, heavy
moulded cornice and blocking course. Ground floor has plinth
to 4-bay engaged Tuscan colonnade surmounted by moulded
entablature with mutules to the cornice; channelled
rustications to the openings: round-arched doorway on the left
with C20 doors and plain fanlight and three C20 plate-glass
windows over moulded sills and panelled aprons. INTERIOR has
moulded and dentilled ceiling cornices and dogleg stair with
rectangular balusters. Included for group value.
